We mourn the passing of Bill Corbett, a friend to CR and a friend to poetry in general. Corbett’s career as a poet, a teacher, a mentor, an editor, and a publisher exemplified a spirit of generosity, openness, and commitment. The words of fellow poets, friends, and former students such as Fred Moten, Russell Banks, Maureen McLane, Paul Auster, and August Kleinzahler for his obituary in the Boston Globe testify to Corbett’s life and legacy.
In his memory, we are publishing a recent piece he wrote for our Helen Adam issue (60.2): “Jonathan Williams: There at the Right Moment.”
