Jean-Thomas Tremblay holds a Ph.D. in English and Gender & Sexuality Studies from the University of Chicago. In the fall of 2018, they will serve as assistant professor of twentieth- and twenty-first-century American fiction and film at New Mexico State University. They have edited a special issue of New Review of Film and Television Studies titled “Breath: Image and Sound.” Their writing has appeared in Criticism, Post-45 Peer-Reviewed, Women & Performance: a journal of feminist theory, Critical Inquiry, Public Books, Arcade, and Review 31. They are at work on a study of the aesthetics and politics of breathing in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.
